Halfway to Hazard Rocks Out CMA Fest

It was a hot, hot day on Friday at CMA Fest but that didn’t stop the masses from coming out to the Sommet Plaza to hear one of our favorite country duo’s play.  Halfway to Hazard, comprised of Chad Warrix and David Tolliver,  is putting the finishing touches on their sophmore album – due out in August.  If you haven’t seen H2H perform live, go.  The duo has an amazing energy, good sense of humor, and a unique southern-rock-country flare.

We sat down to talk to Halfway to Hazard before they took to the stage, and even though we’d met them before, their sense of humor caught us off-guard.  It was like trying to rope-in two adolescent teenagers who needed to but hadn’t taken their ADD medication…And I wouldn’t have had it any other way.  Once Chad managed to hop off the table top and find himself a seat in the booth, we began a fascinating conversation peppered with jokes, laughs, and sometimes disbelief.

These goofy guys are more than just laughs.  David and Chad are passionate about their music and about the genre. They’re passionate about giving back and staying true to themselves both musically and personally.

OMG! @*%#! I LOVE THESE GUYS! I saw them for the first time during CMA Fest and they were great. I think I sat next to you when you took the video of them performing. You asked me if anyone was sitting there. I am from KY and it was great to see them representing. Can’t wait to find out if they are playing around Louisville anywhere.

Thanks for the great interview. These guys are great and I don’t think get enough attention from radio. Thanks for talking about them.

  3. I saw them open up for Lady A and Dierks Bently about a year ago and were great! The radio station had played their song Daisy (I think that’s the name of it) a few times before when they had been in the area so I already knew that song.
