Okay, I get people dogging on Taylor Swift…I really do…but let’s not confuse the awards shows…the CMT Music Awards are VIDEO awards…not singing…not anything but videos…Let’s not forget that. Should Taylor win a female vocalist award? Probably not…but the girl puts a lot into her videos and her ‘shows’ so lets not forget that….Her videos are impressive and tell stories, so the awards she won were justified…Also, let’s not rag on the show itself…Remember…CMT is owned by MTV so you have to expect a certain amount of ‘mtv-ness’…

COUNTRY MUSIC–got a SWIFT kick to the curb. I only watched a few minutes of it–could’nt stand to watch until Keith, Brad or someone country appeared. People complain about other genres coming to country but one of country’s own (claims to be) not only brought them on the show but performed with them as well. I must say it was not good performances. The girl cannot sing. She is off key and swinging her hair around will not hide that fact. It was very annoying.

Ok, I like taylor swift, but I wish she would stay the hell away from country music! last night’s show made me so mad…the CMT awards are a JOKE. Thank goodness the CMA and ACM awards exist

I am soooo excited that Alan Jackson/Brad Paisley/Dierks Bentley won that award together! That had to have been bittersweet for Alan being that he’s celebrating his 20th Anniversary of being signed this month.
I was also excited to see Brad Paisley win several awards…he deserved every one of them!
Performance wise I thought the Jason Aldean/Keith Urban collaboration was AMAZING! Brad Paisley singing “Then” was awesome and I was super excited to see Dierks open the show! Not a huge Sugarland fan but their performance with the B-52′s kicked butt! Loved Trace Adkins performance too

When the HELL is someone gonna call this ballgame called “country music”?? Taylor Swift CANNOT sing AT ALL!!! Most acts on the show can’t sing live. Jason Aldean and his group of posers were awful. Same as that American Idol disease known as Kellie Pickler….she better keep riding Taylor’s coattails at this point cause that is the only reason she is still on the radar. Oh yeah, and don’t blame the bad performances on the audio guy…Yeah, he sucked too, but he can’t polish this turd.
The best thing about the show was that Zac Brown Band was recognized….now there is a group that can actually perform live.

This was the worst show ever!!
I WANT MY COUNTRY MUSIC BACK!! Nothing against Taylor, but she’s POP not COUNTRY. Let her go do the POP thing for about 10 more years and then she can come back to COUNTRY MUSIC!

The Taylor show was awful to me! Not a Taylor fan especially after seeing her in concert the other night! She drove me crazy with all that banging and hair and head flipping!! I just don’t get what is so great about her! Keith Urban was so awesome last night. He looked gorgeous and sounded great. Loved it when he ran up to the higher seats. He loves to perform!! When he came out with Jason Aldean dressed in all black and rocking on that guitar and singing I about went into shock and I thought my TV was going to catch on fire, he was so smokin!!!! Keith you are so AWESOME!!!
