Lady Antebellum’s FanClub Party-Fan Review

One of our readers, Amy, was attending some events that we weren’t covering…So, we begged and pleaded for a reveiw and pictures, and she agreed.  She reviewed the Eric Church show at the Rutledge, and the next day she woke up to attend the Lady Antebellum Fanclub Party…

After a late night out at Eric Church’s show at The Rutledge on Thursday, we were up bright and early on Friday to attend Lady Antebellum’s fan club party at Rocketown. The doors were scheduled to open at 9 a.m. so we decided to get there around 8. There were probably already 50 people there by the time that we got in line. We waited patiently for the doors to open. Our wait wasn’t too bad because it was a little overcast and kind of cool. While we were waiting, the Red Bull girls and someone from Rocketown were handing out drinks. One of the guys from Lady A’s team came out with a video camera and was interviewing people for Webisode Wednesday. Prior to opening the doors, we were given good instructions about what to expect when we got inside. They were pretty prompt in opening the doors right at 9. Everything was very well organized! We walked in and got our wristbands for meet and greet and our Lady A goody bags which included a lanyard and Lady A Fan Club Party 2009 badge. Once we were in, we saw that there were rows of chairs up front and tables and chairs set up behind the rows of chairs. We claimed our seats in the fourth row and then took turns getting breakfast. During breakfast they were showing the various Webisode Wednesday episodes. I think the episode with Charles and the Snuggie was the crowd’s favorite. After breakfast, they gave away door prizes including a Flip HD video camera, tickets to Friday night’s stadium show and suite tickets for the stadium show. After those were awarded, Lady A was introduced. They started with a great rendition of “I Run to You.” During the last chorus, they stopped singing and let the crowd take over. There was an awesome energy in the room! After the song was over, Hillary said that she had chill bumps and that she was crying a little. Charles teased her and said that she cried about everything. They played “Lookin’ for a Good Time,” “All We’d Ever Need” and a new song that I believe was called “I Love This Pain.” The band wanted to have plenty of time for meet and greets, so they then finished their performance with “Love Don’t Live Here.” They handed out a few water bottles as part of the Brita Filter for Good campaign. They also told the story of how they’d all met and gotten together as a group. After their performance, they showed a video of their Mocha Club efforts to raise money for children in Africa and encouraged everyone to contribute. We were called to the meet and greet line based on the color of our wristbands. The line moved pretty quickly and there was a professional photographer there to take all of the pictures. Dave, Hillary and Charles all took the time to shake everyone’s hand and say hello prior to taking pictures. Once the meet and greet was over, we were handed an autographed photo of Lady A. Once we were through the meet and greet line, the party was over. I was very impressed with how organized and efficient everything was. I think that Lady A and their team did a great job of finding a balance between allotting time to the performance and time to meeting the fans. It was a great experience and I’m already looking forward to next year’s party!

Amy, thanks so much for your review and pictures!!!  I know some fans expressed their disappointment in no autographs and the short set list, but it does sound like the most efficient fanclub party of CMA Fest!  I’m glad you had such a great time!!!
