CMA Fest has been a total blast for Country Music Tattle Tale this year. We had the opportunity to meet so many of our Tattle Tale readers, other blog friends, new country artists and some of our favorites. I am still a bit sleep deprived but am really sad that it is all over. Once it got started the week just flew by.
Last night at LP Field was GREAT! The show was packed full of today’s hottest country music. Jack Ingram, Heidi Newfield, Montgomery Gentry, Miranda Lambert, John Rich, Taylor Swift, Sugarland and Kenny Chesney.
Once Jack Ingram took the stage to kick the night off things didn’t cool down until after Kenny Chesney brought down the stadium show with all of his fans favorites – even mine! Yes – I too was once a Kenny Chesney fan! Shhhhhhh!
- Jack Ingram is certainly a fan of the ladies. All of whom would be his Barbie Doll!
- Heidi Newfield was set up on the side of the stage for a full acoustic set.
- Montgomery Gentry is ALWAYS a crowd favorite. No one was able to sit down in their seats! Everyone was up dancing and singing.
- Miranda Lambert is TOTAL Girl Power and we LOVE her!
- John Rich was able to give us both sides of his personality – Big & Rich and John Rich side. I really loved his performance of “The Good Lord and the Man”. Could have done without the fur coat though.
- Taylor Swift – I love you honey but quite a few of us caught you lip syncing. There is no doubt the girl is a great performer though.
- Sugarland was great but we could have done without the theatrics in a stadium show.
- Kenny Chesney, oh, Kenny Chesney. He really is a fun performer…..I think I am just not a fan of the new music. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that he sang my favorite KC song – “Don’t Happen Twice”. We left when he started singing “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy”.

It is amazing to me how much talent our little Music City exudes. I am happy to call it my home and hope that everyone had a wonderful time.
A special hello to our friends over at CMIL and Country On Demand. It was so great to finally put faces to the great websites you call home. Also, safe travels to Kelly Jean, Courtney and the Rascal Flatts FAM from the east coast! Elizabeth it was great meeting you…and I’m sure we will run into you lots more! If I was Taylor I would lip sync too because she sounds much better on records than she does live. I did not enjoy her performance at all. She is sooo overrated. —AND SHE IS PUSHED IN OUR FACE TOO MUCH!!!!!!!
I saw Taylor Saturday night opening for Keith Urban and she was so annoying. Her show was so choreographed and theatrical. She came across as so full of herself. I know she’s very popular but I would not pay to see her again. She flipped that head and hair so much and banging on these can drums and falling all over the stage like she was having an epilectic seizure. Is this what people are wanting for entertainment?? I just don’t understand. She needs to be on the Disney Channel with Miley Cyrus…not in country music.
Just got back from CMA Fest… overall the event was great and we already bought tickets for next year.
Best Performance was Zach Brown Band followed by The Judds. Off the big stage Eric Church was far and away the best – he should be on the big stage next year.
I was not a real fan of Taylor Swifts to start with because I am tired of hearing the same 15 year old song over and over again. She has one topic and just re-sings the same crap over and over again. I know she is 19 but enough already. She is absolutely terrible live and we, along with a few others, busted her lip synching. What a dis-service to real country music artists to have to share the stage with the Britney Spears of Country.
She is a complete studio manufactured marketing dream and hitting a popular demographic with significant money to spend on merchandise so who cares if she can sing… she can sell. Just don’t call her country and don’t put her on the same stage with the Judds… Hank wouldn’t do it that way!!!
