The big lights of Broadway are going country…Joe Nichols will portray Dusty Chandler in the Broadway adaptation of the 1992 movie Pure Country. Dusty was played by King George Strait on the big screen.
“The opportunity to perform on Broadway is very exciting, and at the same time a little bit scary. I saw Reba [McEntire] on the red carpet at the ACM’s this past weekend, and she gave me a few tips. She also told me it will be one of the best experiences of my life. I can’t wait to be a part of that wonderful theater community. And I hope to bring a little country to the big city!”
I’m I the only one who is finding it hard to imagine this movie being made into a Broadway play? I mean, sure, there is music, but it’s not exactly Mama Mia.
