This is the most ridiculous thing I have heard all day! Now mind you….it’s only 7:09 am BUT this is just SO silly. Our buddy Broadway has sources telling him that Kenny Chesney has hired a stunt double to open his shows this year from that swing thingy. The look-alike is a guy named Dennis Murphy from Sevierville, TN.
SERIOUSLY KENNY? If you are going to do something for show at your concert at least have the nerve to do it yourself! What are your thoughts on this?
UPDATED: Take a look at the comments – CMIL was at the opening night of Kenny’s show and say this story is NOT true.

We can tell you with 10000% certainty that this is NOT true and anyone that knows Kenny in the least bit knows that hiring a stunt double is something that he would never do. Why bother with an entrance like that if you’re not going to do it yourself? Not to mention the fact that if you’ve been to one of the shows, there’s no way possible that this is true. The swing drops his off right on the stage where he immediately goes into the rest of the set list. I e-mailed Broadway last week when he first started talking about this and told him how ridiculous the story is – to which he agreed, but thought that it made a good story. Sad! And by the way, “Denny” has been trying to make a buck off the whole KC “look-a-like” thing for a long time – unfortunately, he looks nothing like him.
Not a Kenny fan, but this story sounds unbelievable! I can’t see any artist doing this kind of ridiculous stunt!
P.S. – A lot of people may not be KC fans and will grasp onto anything negative – which is completely sad. If you’re going to dislike KC, then by all means, go ahead – but at least do it on merit and not some ficticous story that someone made up because it would generate hits for their website.
One more thing – ladies of CMTT – I wasn’t directing these comments at you, just at the “story” in general and the fact that someone would make up such stupid rumors just to get traffic to their site! Just wanted to clarify!!:)
Hey ladies! It’s no secret that we are not huge Kenny Chesney fans BUT I will say that I hoped that this story was not true. It seems so silly to have such a big “show” and not do something like swing across the audience. CMIL – you may be excited to know that my friend in KY is begging me to come with her to the Louisville concert in May. I haven’t been to a Kenny concert since 2004! I’m not a huge fan of Kenny’s island music BUT I used to be a BIG fan. Kenny is who introduced me to Rascal Flatts! I like what some call his “classic” music….just not so much of the new stuff. Maybe if I make it out to the concert I won’t be so hard on him anymore. : ) Thanks for the comments and the claification. I know you ladies went to the opening show so I will certainly take your word for it since you were there!
If the story is true, so what? Garth used a double for years to open his show so what’s the big deal? Garth had a guy who looked very similiar to himself sit and appear to be playing the piano. As the crowd went nuts and the guy countinued to play the real Garth would rise up through the piano. So I don’t see the big deal about Kenny. There is a reason he either always wins entertainer of the year or in the running for it like this year.
That is Kenny Chesney. If you are a fan then you should know that. I have been a Kenny fan since the beginning and I don’t care what side you look at him from you should know that it’s him. Seriously if you are not checking out Kenny when you see him somethings wrong.
Well I am not a Kenny Chesney fan but I seen the Denny look-a-like this weekend at Sevierville preform and he is way better looking than Kenny Chesney also has a great voice so I am a Denny fan not a Kenny fan.
