The biggest names in country music will pay tribute to George Strait during ACM week in Las Vegas.
GEORGE STRAIT – ACM ARTIST OF THE DECADE will tape from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Monday, April 6th, 2009 to air at a later date on the CBS Television Network. This live concert event will feature an amazing lineup of country music superstars-including scheduled performances by Keith Urban, Faith Hill, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Sugarland, Taylor Swift and more-paying tribute to “The King of Country” George Strait and his legendary 25-year career.
George Strait pops out hit after hit. Some how, he’s managed to maintain a steady stream of nominations for nearly every catagory throughout his entire career.
The event will tape the day after the 44th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS which will be broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.
Tickets are still available to the public for this event for $200, $150 and $100 through Ticketmaster. com.
Proceeds of all sales benefit the Academy of Country Music Charitable Fund (ACMCF).

What an incredible night this is going to be. Wish I could afford to be there but I will have to be satisfied with being able to see it on t.v. when it airs. Cant wait! I know Tim and Faith went on tour with George back in 1997. I think thats when it was, I know she was pregnant with her first child at the time. This will be a very special night for them. George Strait is amazing.
