I was trying to avoid going there….I really was…but I had to listen to the freakin song and now I have to post. Miley Cyrus has a new song coming out called “The Climb.” It will be available on March 24th on the Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack.
I always wondered what the heck Miley was doing at all of these Nashville events for songwriters and musicians….Like, okay, she sang on one of her dad’s songs, but it don’t make her country! It annoyed me to see her at the BMI Awards or hosting shows with her not-so-bright father because she had no right to be there.
Now, she goes and releases this song….Guess what….I listened and it IS indeed country. Dag Gummit!!!! I mean really….It’s a beautiful song….I’d rather just about anybody else in the world be singing it, but it’s a good song. I don’t think Miley has the vocals or the personality to go country. At least what Taylor Swift lacks in the vocal department, she makes up for in the likeability department.
Watch out Music City…Aparrently Miley’s here and she don’t plan on leavin!

I love and I do mean LOVE Billy Ray Cyrus, I have since I was 5 (turning 23 this year). I saw BRC this past Dec in Nashville and Miley came up and sang a few songs and my ears were literally hurting from it. So I watched this video thinking it would totally suck like most of Miley’s songs do but I was kind of shocked that it wasn’t as bad… still not that good. I thought she was trying to be like Carrie in the video so that annoyed me. I enjoyed it much more than I thought it would… now will I go and download it off iTunes, probably not, but my ears didn’t hurt.
Tawny, you are an idiot. Billy Ray is great and so is Miley.

When I hear a well-written, GREAT song like “The Climb” the first thing I want to know is who wrote it. I have searched and searched and can’t find the writer(s) of this song – what’s the big secret on who the frickin’ songwriters of this song are? Miley and/or not-so-bright Billy could not possibly have written this song … you don’t write ditzy brainless twit/hick songs all your life then suddenly come up with an intelligent brilliant smash like “The Climb”. Miley is great and pretty and oh so talented. I love her. Her new song is so great, it will be a big hit for her. Love, Love, Love her. All the Cyrus’ are so talented and good looking. Miley had the best looking dress at the Oscars. BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Shai, her daddy’s ranch is bigger than your daddy’s ranch. Seriously, maybe your guys should give her a break. She’s already given millions of dollars to cancer care and research and on her upcoming tour, 75 cents per person who bought a ticket will also go to cancer care and research. I know she’s been involved in other charities and good works also. The main reason her Hannah Montana Movie was actually filmed in Tennessee, DURING A RECESSION, was because she and her dad intervened in the studio decision making. Maybe if you spent more time doing good works instead of sitting around trying to decide who’s country and who’s not, the world would be a better place. Peace and Love to all Miley’s supporters. Also, I can tell you, with my family backround, I would give everything I’ll ever have to have a dad like Billy Ray.
