Tawny, Kitty and I decided that we would head down to the Grand Ole Opry (at the Ryman) and get a dash of good ole’ country music. Really, we bought the tickets because Lady Antebellum were supposed to be there. Unfortunately, they cancelled. Kitty was ready to throw in the towel but we picked her up and dragged her kicking and screaming.
CMTT doesn’t normally digg into the “old country” days of music. We stay up to date and let you know the latest in country music news. That is how it is and how it will always be because we know that is what you want to hear. BUT – I think that EVERY country music fan should visit the Grand Ole Opry at least once in the lives. The history and amazing music that they bring to the stage night after night is both nostalgic and worthy of goose bumps.
Everyone that performed last night was flawless. It was a great night out with the girls and some outstanding country music.
We have pictures and a few very short videos posted on our MySpace page. Oh, and we did get to meet Vince Gill last night to! He was very gracious to all of the fans that waited for him in the alley after the show.

The very first time I heard country music was at the Opry. My mom dragged me down there while we were on vacation in Nashville. I fell in love with it that night and have listened ever since.
What??? No mention of my fave artist – ERIC CHURCH? I listened online and he sounded incredible – even got asked to sing a third song. I would have loved to have seen Eric Church perform at the Opry on the Ryman stage – a dream come true!!!!

Caroline – sorry I didn’t mention Eric. I posted two short videos of his performance on our MySpace page. He did do an AMAZING job! He is a great artist. It’s always a pleasure to see him. It was great that he got to stay and play an extra song to! He rocked it!!!
