The CMT MUSIC AWARDS will broadcast live on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 on CMT and CMT. com, honoring the best country music videos of the year. Country’s biggest superstars will be on-hand to celebrate at the annual award show and its live red carpet pre-show. Host, venue and ticket information to be announced at a later date.
“We’re always looking for a fresh approach to our Awards Show, and this year we’ve moved the telecast to June rather than April,” says John Hamlin, executive producer and SVP of production and development, CMT. “The June airdate for The CMT MUSIC AWARDS gives fans their first look at many of country music’s biggest stars right before they hit the road for the summer concert season.”
Country music fans will be able to vote for their favorite videos on CMT. com, beginning Monday, April 13 when the first round of nominees is announced. Final nominees will be announced Tuesday, May 19. Videos must be submitted no later than February 18, 2009 and must have aired on CMT between January 18, 2008 and February 23, 2009 in order to be eligible.
The CMT MUSIC AWARDS remains country music’s only fan voted award show, and last year fans cast a record 5 million votes online to determine the night’s big winners.
I like the CMT Awards. It brings out all the stars….Country Girl…do I see a red carpet lurking event in our future?

Supposively the awards are also moving to the sommet center instead of belmont. I dunno how I feel about that :/
Hey Tawny – I am feeling a red carpet coming our way! k – I heard this rumor to, I am still trying to confirm it. Why aren’t you sure about the move? Could be good. The used to tape the Flameworthy awards at Sommet Center years ago and it always worked out really well for fans. More access to the artists I thought.
The Sommet Center is muchmore centrally located and more access….woot woot…feeling good about this!
