love this version by andy griggs, he is a great singer. it’s hard for me to decide which i like better, andy griggs or the original version by cedar hill. the orginal first line was written “it was cold as a well diggers ass in cutthroat montana.” the first time cedar hill performed it everyone laughed so hard over the first line they didn’t care about the rest of the song so when they recorded it they sang “it was the coldest day i remember in cutthroat montana.” andy griggs changed “ass” to “ankle”. awesome song, love the lyrics and the simpilicity of only a guitar.
