The Tennessean is reporting that the ever popular New Year’s Eve concert at the Sommet Center has been cancelled due to low ticket sales. I am shocked!
Here is a quote from the article:
“For the past 12 years, we’ve been fortunate to have the biggest names in music celebrate New Year’s Eve in Nashville, but there is no denying that our core audience has been financially challenged by the hard realities of a flattened economy,” says Steve Moore, of MEG / AEG Live, in a release.
“We believe it is in the best interest of the artist and the event producers, to remove the event from the calendar for 2008, regroup, and work to come back next year, to a better market environment. On behalf of the artists, we apologize for any inconvenience this situation has created.”
If you bought tickets to this show go the The Tennessean article to find out how to get a refund.
What a sad thing to have to do. I am very disappointed. I wonder if they cancelled the concert in KY to. This was the concert that they would share between KY and TN. It was marketed like crazy when tickets went on sale. This is a real surprise.
