Hey everyone! I am back from my Florida vacation and must say that I am disappointed in my first post back.
The announcement has not been made public yet but from some sources very close to Nashville they are saying that Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert will be the opening act for Kenny Chesney’s 2009 tour.
As our avid readers know I am not a huge fan of Kenny Chesney anymore. The majority of his tour is big stadiums and he isn’t hitting the road with as many tour dates as the rest of the “big names” in country music. The stadium shows take away all of the “personal touch” with fans and I must say that I am disappointed. Kenny does some arena shows SO I guess I am going to have to catch one of those this year to see Lady Antebellum.
If you get the chance to see Lady Antebellum live GO!!!! They are amazing!
Nashville Narc, Country Music is Love and other blogs are also reporting this news so it’s looking like the announcement should come soon!

Wow you just stole this from nashville narc. Is any of your news original?
How can you be disappointed? I get that you’re not a Kenny Chesney fan but when your favorite group gets the opportunity to tour with the biggest touring act in country music, and one of the top 3 acts in all genres, how can you be sad about that? This is an amazing opporunity for Lady A and I’d think their fans would be happy for them. Charles and I were talking about this last week – and although he wouldn’t come out and admit the tour since its not been announced yet, he said that if it does happen, it will be the biggest dream come true for him. As a fan, I honestly don’t see how you can be disappointed.
Anonymous, this did not come directly from Nashville Narc. I received an email from a woman that is in the Kenny Chesney fan club and is very active in the message boards and fan club. She emailed me earlier in the week (while I was on vacation) to let me know the news since I have a HUGE Lady Antebellum fan. She is someone that I trust very much and someone who has given me other great news for the blog. If you read the blog often you know that we always give credit where credit is due. ALWAYS! Nashville Narc is one of our favorites on our blogroll and that is not something that we would ever do!
Hey Erin, I thought about you girls over at Country Music is Love while I was writing this post. I knew you would be upset. I think I am torn because I have loved going to see Lady A at the smaller venues and I love how up close and personal the shows have been. I will miss this in the big stadium shows. I think that is is a great opportunity for them to be seen by the hundrends of thousands of fans that come out to see Kenny but I hate that because it’s Kenny I am going to have to pay out the butt to see Lady A. I have been over to the Lady Antebellum boards today and I don’t seem to be the onlyl Lady A fan that is a little disappointed about it. Hope you understand…. : )
Oh I see where you’re coming from and I think its a common feeling when these little known acts start to explode on the scene – of course fans are excited for them but at the same time, its almost as if fans are a little timid to “share” them. I’m not saying that’s how you feel – just something I’ve noticed when other acts start to explode just like Lady A is and will continue to do.
As far as I know, they have a LOT of different things in the works for 2009 – so for those Lady A fans that don’t want to see a KC show, they’ll have other options to see Lady A!
Trust me – I know that not everyone is going to like every artist but I’m excited for them for this great opportunity!!
I hope you do take in a Chesney show next year – I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised!!:) heck – if u do that, I might just have to take in a RF show!!;)
No, that is exactly how I feel Erin! LOL I can remember back in the day when Rascal Flatts were new and I felt like their only fan. Then they went “BOOM” and everyone loved them. I am just not ready to share Lady Antebellum with everyone yet! I know it’s selfish. Can’t help it. I really am happy for them though. It’s exciting and it’s happening for them so quickly. It is an amazing opportunity to gain a great fan base.
Here’s the deal Erin. I make it out to a Kenny C show and promise to go with an open mind and you make a Rascal Flatts show…..we can compare notes! LOL Too bad we don’t live closer we could meet up for dinner before the shows! Thanks for reading and giving your feedback. We always love to hear from you.
Sounds good – it sounds like a great idea for a blog challenge or blog swap or something!
Hopefully we will be living closer soon – I’m planning the big move to Music City in June!!
OMG!! How exciting. Moving to Nashville is one of the greatest things that we ever did! Can’t wait to have you here! Looking forward to the 2009 tour dates! A blog swap/challenge sounds like a great idea. We are up for it!
