Okay, I am a self proclaimed CHRISTMAS NUT. I subscribe to the whole nine yards. I love the spirit, the magic, the joy, and the bustle. I love Christmas cookies, wrapping paper, and the madness of trying to get everything done. I love going to church, the candle light, and the nativity. But one of the best things about Christmas, besides Jesus, is the music. I LOVE CHRISTMAS MUSIC. But it has to be good Chirstmas music. I hate it when modern day artists mutilate classics trying to be artistic, or when they try to write new songs that just go horrible wrong.. (Have you heard Bruce Springsteen’s “Santa Clause is Coming to town” or Cyndi Lauper’s “Chirstmas Conga”? I rest my case.) So anyway, Walmart is highlighting some artists this month, and one of them happens to be a CMTT favorite, Faith Hill. The segment is called “Soundcheck“, and it highlights her Christmas album. If you have not gotten it yet, stop reading this, get in your car, (or at least open a new tab and got to Amazon.com) and buy this album. Seriously, Faith gives me chills. Her versions of the old classics are fantastic with out being stale, and her new stuff is moving and poignant. Unlike some other artists, who can’t help sounding like they are going to give Santa a lap dance. *cough.. Jessica Simpson.. Cough, cough..* Sorry had a little tickle there…

Faith took Christmas Classics and made them her own. Her voice is a gift from God and her sharing it with us is our gift!
