NASHVILLE – (November 5, 2008) – Reigning ACM, AMA, CMA and CMT Vocal Group of The Year Rascal Flatts wrapped 2008 touring this past Sunday, November 2 and closed out with 1.2 million fans in attendance at 70 shows. In January 2009, the band will launch the final leg of their “Bob That Head Tour” for a run of 25 shows with Epic/Columbia Nashville’s Jessica Simpson opening.
Rascal Flatts Greatest Hits Volume 1 debuted with sales near 90,000 today bringing their total album sales for 2008 to 981,000 plus an additional 2.6 million in digital track sales. Greatest Hits Volume 1 is a 2-disc package that contains thirteen singles as well as three newly recorded Christmas songs as bonus tracks – the holiday classic “White Christmas,” “Jingle Bell Rock” and an a capella version of “I’ll Be Home For Christmas.”
Rascal Flatts has sold over 17 million albums, scored 9 #1 singles and 17 top 10 hits and each of their five albums are multi-platinum sellers. In May of this year they were honored as the 2008 Academy of Country Music/The Home Depot® Humanitarian Award recipients due to their dedication to raising funds for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, where in the past 4 years they have donated 3 million dollars, as well as their work on the American Red Cross Celebrity Cabinet board and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
