I guess after all of the Jessica Simpson and Rascal Flatts drama yesterday I didn’t report about what most other blogs thought was newsworthy. So hear is some big news in country music that was reported late last night or early this morning:

It has been reported on just about every blog on the net that Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will be sharing hosting duties at this years CMA Awards. (I will only be watching to see Rascal Flatts collect their Group/Duo of the Year Award and will then be tuning out)

Blake Shelton made a big announcement this morning. (No, not a wedding to his sweetheart Miranda). So what is the big news? The release date of Blake’s upcoming album, “Startin’ Fires,” has been moved up. It will be out earlier than the expected. Instead of the January release you will get to hear it before Thanksgiving! November 18th to be exact.

Other big news on the country music blogs this morning is that the beautiful Tim and Faith McGraw have bought an island! Yes, that’s right – an island!

And last but not least. Heidi Newfield, is finally talking about the split that happened with her and Trick Pony. This is an excerpt from an interview that she gave to CMT:

“I waited, and I fulfilled all of my obligations with them. I didn’t quit midway or anything like that. It was tough, ” she admitted to CMT. “There were a lot of hard feelings on their part and a lot of bitterness. And they made it pretty hard on me there those last couple of months … But I felt like I could hold my head up high and left with character and dignity.”
