Ok, so since the CMA Nominations came out a few weeks ago and they left out Rascal Flatts from the all important Entertainer of the Year award I have been fuming. I just can’t figure it out. What were they thinking? To replace the Flatts with Sugarland (who I love but definitely have not paid their dues to win yet).
Here is the only thing that I can come up with. Do any of you remember the performance from last year’s awards? The one with Jamie Foxx? They sang “She Goes All the Way”. Gary was sick and loosing his voice. The reviews were horrible and I even thought it was not a stellar performance.
A lot of people said some horrible things about this performance – but it was one performance. I give Rascal Flatts – Gary – a great deal of respect for not cancelling the performance due to illness. (That seems to be the “in” thing to do these days) He still gave it a good try.
They sang this same song on Oprah last year and did a fabulous job!
Is this one single performance the reason to leave one of the top touring country acts of 2008 out of Entertainer of the Year?

I LOVE Rascal Flatts and have seen them in concert twice and met them once. They are a FANTASTIC bunch of down-to-Earth guys that don’t think their better than everybody else just because they’re famous. Gary even talked with us about going deer hunting! (Which I would LOVE to do sometime when his schedule permits)! I think they are AMAZING LIVE and would LOVE to see them get Entertainer of The Year!!
